The Discord bot that keeps your campaign notes
Type /record start before the game and SCRY joins your voice channel. When you stop, it writes up the session and adds what happened to your campaign wiki, so you can run the game without a notebook in your lap.
Setting it up
- Sign in at app.getscrying.com with your Discord account and create a campaign.
- Add the SCRY bot to your server from the setup page.
- Join your voice channel and type
/record start. If you run more than one campaign, pick the one you're playing. - Play. When the session's over, type
/record stop.
Processing runs after you stop, so nobody at the table waits on it.
What SCRY writes down
Every recorded session gets its own page with a recap of what happened. The people, places and threads that came up get wiki pages of their own, linked to each other and to the session they appeared in.
Each entry shows the line from the session it came from, so you can check it against what was actually said. You can edit or delete anything it writes.
Telling your table
When recording starts, SCRY posts a notice in your server saying the session is being recorded. Anyone who'd rather sit out can react to that notice or type /scry consent withdraw, and their audio is left out from then on in that server. Nobody has to say it again next week.
Players can check where they stand with /scry consent status, and /scry delete-my-data removes their voice and transcript data.
Audio is deleted within 72 hours. The transcript and the wiki stay.
Your players get a wiki too
Send your table a link and they can read a player wiki built from your sessions. It only holds what came out at the table, so the reveal you're saving for session twenty stays yours. Players don't need an account to read it.
Commands
| Command | What it does |

What it won't do
SCRY records Discord voice only, so it isn't built for games around a physical table yet. It won't run your game or make things up about your world either. Everything in the wiki traces back to something someone said or wrote.
